Pretty Ugly: Bathroom
Updated: Oct 8, 2022
Let's face it, our homes are filled with some pretty ugly, but pretty necessary items. But what if we could add some joy to those every day items? Our homes are are place of safety and sanity (hopefully), so why wouldn't we try to find the beauty in the smallest moments, or items, in our home? In this latest series, I'll help show you some alternatives to what we associate to being ugly, to find something pretty. Today, let's talk bathrooms...

1. Children's Toilets
Parents, if you know, you know. When we found out we were pregnant with Collins, I was on a mission to find only beautiful baby items for our home. Just because I was a parent didn't mean I was going to have my home taken over with bright colored, mismatched baby items. For those looking for kid's toilets that don't sing, light up, or aren't an eyesore, you're welcome.

3. Toilet Brushes
The first thing I think of when I think of the ugly in my bathroom are my toilet brushes. There's nothing glamourous about cleaning toilets. But what if we could eliminate that eye sore into something aesthetically pleasing for your home?
4. Room Freshener
For all of your bathroom's wonderful aromas.
5. Toilet Stool
Whether you have a little one that needs some assistant climbing up to the toilet, or if you need a little help with your daily ritual, here's a few options to make going a little more glamourous.
6. Soap Dispensers
Pleeeaaasseeee let us end the cheap, tacky plastic soap dispensers. Not only are they tacky to look at, but they are such a waste. Here are a few options that will add beauty to your bathroom, and help the planet.
7. Waste Basket
Trash in a bathroom is inevitable. Don't forget that these small details matter. Consider the waste basket the jewelry of your bathroom. Just this small detail can really elevate your space.
8. Bath Mat
The biggest thing we did in our bathrooms to elevate their looks was to trade out our cheap cotton mat for a gorgeous small vintage Turkish rug. The rug continually became stained, hard to clean, and worn out. If you're looking for a quick update to your space, don't underestimate the power of their small square footage. Here are some other suggestions below.

9. Shower Curtains
I cannot wait for the day when we have a beautiful walk-in shower with a glass enclosure. But until then, I'm going to make the most of our starter home's tub/shower combo.
